Close to Destiny, by Adria J. Cimino

And there you have it: the cover of Close to Destiny by Adria J. Cimino. Today is the official cover reveal on the blog Traveling With T, where you will also find a book excerpt. Close to Destiny will be released by Velvet Morning Press in print and ebook formats on March 2.

The synopsis...

Does déjà vu have a deeper meaning?

A puzzling gift from a stranger in a hat shop. Whisperings and footsteps in a dim luxury hotel. Dreams that transport to elegant parties where champagne flows like water. Kat is both frightened and intrigued by the events that have plagued her since she arrived in London, in a final effort to save herself from anorexia and recover from her latest suicide attempt.

Most disturbing is an encounter with a mysterious woman who introduces Kat to Will. And this lovely messenger has information she desperately wants to share with Kat: an incident from more than a century ago that could transform Kat's future. But will Kat listen?

A story of the role of destiny in life... and of righting the wrongs of the past.

Today we have a guest post from Emma at Words and Peace. Emma, take it away!

~~~
Do you make resolutions in January? Even if you are pretty sure you won't keep them, it gives you a good feeling, right?
I have the feeling many of us avid bookivores want to tackle once for all our insanely crammed to-be-read shelves. To add to our stacks, David at The Quivering Pen even came up with a list of 200 books to read in 5 years.
One year at a time for me! So sorting through the 860 books currently on my TBR Goodreads shelf, and based on what I hear everyone talking about, here is my list of 9 books to finally read in 2015:
9 Books to Finally Read in 2015
9 Books To Finally Read in 2015
1. The Divine Comedy, by Dante
2. Stoner, by John Edward Williams
3. Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
4. The Woman in White, by Wilkie Collins
5. Cosmicomics, by Italo Calvino
6. The Art Forger, by B. A. Shapiro
7. The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
8. Wanderlust: A History of Walking, by Rebecca Solnit
9. All the Light We Cannot See: A Novel, by Anthony Doerr
Have you read any of these? Which books have you been meaning to read? Is this the year you'll finally do it?!?
~~~

Emma has loved reading ever since the tender age of 4 when her mom taught her how, mainly to keep her occupied in the otherwise quiet and sleepy French town she grew up in. Now residing in Illinois, Emma blogs about books at Words and Peace and also runs France Book Tours.

Also, Emma is generously is offering all Velvet Morning Press authors $15 off of its “Eiffel” book tour package. Merci, France Book Tours!

What’s a great way to start off the New Year? By announcing that an international best-selling author has written the foreword for Velvet Morning Press’ soon-to-be released book, That's Paris: An Anthology of Life, Love and Sarcasm in Paris.

Who are we talking about? Someone who has written quite a few words about the City of Light.

So without further ado… Velvet Morning Press is delighted to announce that Stephen Clarke, best-selling author of A Year in the Merde and 1,000 Years of Annoying the French, perfectly sets the stage for this collection of Paris-inspired writing. In his foreword, Stephen offers the unique blend of humor and indomitable knowledge of French-English relations.

Dirty Bertie, by Stephen Clarke
Stephen Clarke's latest book about Paris is Dirty Bertie: an English King Made in France, the true story of King Edward VII's outrageous exploits in 19th-century Paris at the time when the boulevards, the can-can, Montmartre and Impressionism were all in their infancy.  He saw it all happen and was even the first guest–French or otherwise–to climb the Eiffel Tower.

A story of encounters that make a difference… How about taking a trip to Paris and a glimpse into the lives of four Parisians through the pages of a book?

Velvet Morning Press is pleased to announce the re-release in print and ebook formats of Paris, Rue des Martyrs by Adria J. Cimino. The novel was previously published as an ebook by Agency Editions Inc.

Paris, Rue des Martyrs follows the lives of four strangers in Paris. Each one is on a quest: to uncover a family secret, to grasp a new chance at love, to repair mistakes of the past. Four stories entwine, four quests become one, as their paths cross amid the beauty, squalor, animation and desolation of a street in Paris, the rue des Martyrs.

Rafael's search for his birth mother leads him to love and grim family secrets. Cecile's view of herself as an unsatisfied housewife is radically changed by the promise of a passionate liaison. Andre, an aging actor, troubled by the arrival of the son he abandoned years ago, must make a choice, to either lose his son forever or put aside pride and seek redemption. Mira travels to Paris to begin a new life and forget about love... or so she intends.

Four strangers, four stories, one riveting novel.
